Overview

The SIA Government Summit brings together all facets of the security industry: executives, integrators, sales, marketing and government relations professionals. Panels are geared towards doing business with government and gaining a better understanding of the trends facing the industry, and the event provides one-on-one networking time with government and private sector insiders.

Luntz_Frank.jpgDr. Frank Luntz is the featured speaker at the SIA Public Policy Dinner, scheduled at The Hamilton dinner theater at 600 14th St. NW for the evening of Tuesday, June 9.

Dr. Luntz is one of the most honored communication professionals in America today. Dr. Luntz, deemed “the Nostradamus of pollsters” by Sir David Frost, was named one of “50 of America’s most promising leaders aged 40 and under” by Time magazine, as well as the “hottest pollster” in America according to the Boston Globe. In 2012, he finished #87 in a Time global poll of the “most influential people in the world.”

Dr. Luntz has written, supervised and conducted more than 2,000 surveys, focus groups, ad tests and dial sessions in more than two dozen countries and four continents over the past decade. He is the author of three of The New York Times best-selling books: Words that Work: It’s Not What You Say It’s What People Hear, What Americans Really Want… Really and WIN: The Key Principles to Take Your Business from Ordinary to Extraordinary.

A Look Ahead: The Security Industry and the Government
Industry leaders give their perspective on the role of the government marketplace for the security industry—where it is, and where it's going.

Insights from the Hill
Key congressional staffers share insights on the relationship between Congress, its committees, federal agencies and the security industry. Panelists will also discuss recent policy developments and how security solutions providers can contribute to the process.

Security and the States
Representatives of state and local governments discuss emerging security trends, policies being debated in state legislatures and how security dollars are allocated for security programs.

Convergence of Physical and Logical Security
The "Internet of Everything" is revolutionizing the security industry. This session will help define convergence at the micro and macro levels, and examine its implications for the security industry.

DHS Science and Technology Directorate
DHS staff give an overview of S&T activities and discuss emerging technologies, procurement, engagement with industry and ways that DHS components interact with the private sector during and emergency.

Contracting with the Government: Tips from Seasoned Veterans
Industry pros discuss opportunities for small and large businesses to work together, the benefits and challenges of the GSA supply schedules program, vehicles for contracting with state and local governments and the importance of being vigilant on evolving Federal regulations that can impact your business.

Making the Biometric Exit System a Reality
